Job Summary:
· Vertex is seeking a talented individual to join our Cystic Fibrosis Global Marketing group as Associate Marketing Director in Cambridge . This individual will be a key contributor, and a driver of Ex-US markets launch preparation, conceiving of and implementing commercial strategies and activities to support the launch of VX-770. This pioneer will possess a desire for team success in a highly innovative company aimed at redefining health, and transforming lives with new medicines. VX-770 is an investigational orphan drug for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
• Primarily responsible for the (Rest of World) ROW launch, driving strategic HCP and Patient initiatives and tactical programs that maximize the launch, leveraging the US plan – Plan and implement launch for ROW Healthcare Practitioner promotion – Plan and implement launch for patient and patient advocacy audiences in ROW – Develop annual Professional Relations strategy plan that ensures alignment of activities with overall brand goals and objectives – Drive country level launch plans – Sales force preparation ROW • Brokers agreement across matrix team members and ROW staff to coordinate the successful launch • Tailors and drives sales training implementation for EU and Canada • Develop ROW thought leader and advocacy relationships • Collaborate with Business Information partners on marketing research plans, including launch metrics for ROW
Minimum Requirements Ideal experience and skills match:
· A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a science discipline. An MBA is an preferred, but not required · At least 8 years experience in the specialty pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries; comprised of at least 5 years marketing, demonstrating progression of responsibility. · Global marketing experience required · Launch experience required; Orphan drug launch preferred · Demonstrated strategic planning, communication and presentation skills · Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex problems with creativity and innovation · Proven teamwork in small teams, leadership and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of business · Demonstrated cross-functional matrix teams leadership · Proven ability to select and optimize performance of outside business partners and vendors · Leadership o Leads through networks and influence o Collaborative o Demonstrates sound reasoning and judgment · Organizational effectiveness o Comfortable in small companies and teams, growth situations and ambiguity (we’re growing!) o Communicates effectively o Results oriented o Can lead change
