Vertex Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Lab Manager/Scientific Associate to provide general laboratory assistance supporting Formulation Development.
Key Responsibilities will include:
-Develop scientifically sound methods for designated laboratory practices and equipment that ensure reproducibility and accuracy (project driven)
-Lead working team to pursue continuous laboratory improvements.
-Champion laboratory values and culture,
-Coordinate capital budget and purchases.
-Track and replenish lab supplies and chemical inventory/expiry
-Schedule and host vendors during equipment installation, preventative maintenance, and repair.
-Maintain log books for common laboratory equipment and processes.
-Point person for communication with Pharmaceutical Development Metrology and Safety Groups.
-Assist with data entry and verification.
-Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
This role requires a high attention to detail while managing multiple parallel tasks. Candidates must be able to proactively communicate, be organized, and be able to maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of initiative to identify problems, propose solutions and learn fundament formulation development skills. The candidate will also need to possess strong influencing skills to implement solutions within the laboratory user group. Basic computer skills are required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field. Internship or undergraduate research project involving laboratory work strongly preferred.
